McLaren Vale Wine region and explore the Fleurieu Peninsula.
Wine:
McLaren Vale has over 45 cellar doors from which you can sample the wide
range of award winning wines. Wine tasting tours are available all year
round and you can enrich your experience by taking a vineyard or winery
tour as well. Many wineries also offer the chance to sample local produce
in their restaurants and outdoor eating areas.
Food:
The region is renowned for a wide variety of fine dining experiences featuring fresh local produce that both showcase and compliment local wines. You may like to dine overlooking a sparkling ocean at the Star of Greece Café or in a classic Australian stone cottage at the Salopian Inn, featuring the best in local produce. The bounty of fish and seafood from local waters is celebrated each year during the Sea & Vines Festival.
Towns:
Mclaren Vale, Willunga, Victor Harbor, Goolwa and Strathalbyn are all
wtihin a 30 minute drive and offer cafes, Aussie pubs, antique and secondhand
stores and even the opportunity to ride a steam train along the clifftops
overlooking the ocean.
Beaches:
Some of Australias most stunning and pristine coastline lies a few minutes
drive away, spectacular sweeping coastal views and deserted beaches.
